The issue of good and evil is intellectually connected to the basic and fundamental discussions of moral virtues and vices. In a distinguished hadith by Imam Jafar Sadiq (‘as) titled Armies of Reason and Ignorance, a great significance has been attached to the concept of good and evil by a simile that compares them with Ministers of Reason and Ignorance. The issue in other ways is reflected in many verses of Holy Quran. The present article, through a combination of data-based method and thematic analysis, seeks to find the prominent Quranic meanings, messages and evidences related to the issue of good and evil as also discussed thoughtfully by sixth Imam of Shia. The researchers will elucidate different explanations by Shia scholars on the hadith which of course fit the ideals and erudite style of every thinker. A deep critical analysis is also made to the opinions that Shia scholars have presented regarding the issue of good and evil in various mystical, religious, philosophical, theological, and moral dimensions. As a result, it becomes clear that based on a rational thinking different schools of thought introduce the dichotomy of good and evil as the source of all virtues and vices, but to do so they use their own terms and ideology. Considering that most Shia scholars have focused on the words of Imam Sadiq (‘as) to unfold different layers of its meaning, therefore, the upcoming research deals with this issue by referring to principles of Imamiyya or the Twelver Shiism, a perceptive
